The Bullmastiff is a powerful dog, which was originally a cross between the English Mastiff and the Old English Bulldog. Bullmastiffs are very athletic and muscular, making them incredibly fast and agile. This is a large dog breed and refers to working group, it is solidly built, with a short snout. The Bullmastiff carries the characteristics of Molosser class and was originally bred by 19th-century gamekeepers in order to guard estates and immobilize poachers. The breed's roots go from the English Mastiff and Old English Bulldog; it was recognized a purebred dog by the English Kennel Club in 1924. It is an athletic dog, yet docile and obedient,and this have made the breed popular as a family pet.
